Islam vs. Islamists

TRYING TO FIND THE TRUTH ABOUT ISLAM AND MUSLIMS

We’re bombarded by contradictory information everywhere: on TV, radio, print; political, commercial, educational, etc.News stories. Presidential candidates, insurance policies, food products, entertainment, school policies, etc

So where is the truth? We’re intelligent adults. We can figure things out; we don’t need spoon feeding. We shop where we get the best prices and quality . But the search for truth sometimes intimidates.

Right now we see a lot of Muslim activity. Are they all terrorists? Of course not. But where is the truth and how do we distinguish between moderates and terrorists? And why are the self-proclaimed “peaceful” ones not oenly denouncing terrorism. A recent poll revealed that almost 25% of Muslim youths in America support suicide bombing against civilians in some cases.

In the past year the Corporation for Public Broadcasting awarded a number of informational documentary films to be aired on our public television stations. One chosen was titled Islam vs Islamists. It was approved and funded with our tax money. After production, PBS did not release the film for reasons that have not held up to scrutiny, one of them being that it might offend Muslims, or that it might appear alarmist. Finally, under pressure, they have agreed to release it to any public TV stations that might want to show it. Well….

In CPB’s own summary description: Islam vs Islamists, Martyn Burke, Frank Gaffney and Alex Alexiev, ABG Films Inc., Los Angeles. “Islam vs Islamists will explore how Islamic extremists are at war with moderates in their own faith, and how the consequences of their aggressive behavior are threatening many centrist Muslims in the west. The filmmakers will follow the stories of several moderate Muslims in North America and Europe who are struggling to maintain democratic values in the face of threats and intimidation from the extremists.”

Hmm, sounds interesting. I’d like to see it !

Our money was paid to produce it. We are an intelligent people—especially in New Hampshire—capable of judging for ourselves. Furthermore, I think we are in desparate need for accurate information on this subject. Let us judge. We can figure out where the truth lies. We want to know more about the subject matter.

We need and want to know more about the Muslim religion. But as soon as people hear the words, they shrink back, because they fear it may be politically incorrect, or they know how radical Muslims retaliate when anyone suggests there’s something wrong. Fear. More and more evidence proves that extremist Muslims are active in America. We wish it wasn’t so, and we’d like not to have to deal with this.

Contradictory statements

The Muslim religion is a religion of peace vs the Muslim religion is one of submission. Muslims are assimilating into American society vs Muslims are not nor do they intend to assimilate. Muslims tolerate other religions vs Muslims are intolerant of other religions. Muslims want to follow the US Constitution vs Muslims prefer to follow the Sharia.

So I urge all of us to request that our own public TV station make it available. (And close to prime time viewing, please!) Maybe also ask your representatives to exert some pressure. We need to find the truth.

NJ Court Upholds Second Amendment

Court holds that it trumps gun forfeiture law.

In a landmark written opinion filed February 27, a New Jersey Superior Court recognized the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution and held that a citizen’s Constitutional Right to Keep and Bear Arms cannot be involuntarily waived under a New Jersey firearms forfeiture law. “The recognition of Second Amendment rights in New Jersey is long overdue,” said attorney Evan F. Nappen, whose law firm (including Richard V. Gilbert, Esq. and Louis P. Nappen, Esq.) represented appellant Dennis W. Peterson in the Warren County case. “In this appeal, the Second Amendment was applied to New Jersey via the Constitutional doctrine of fundamental fairness, overcoming a significant legal hurdle needed for the Federal Bill of Rights to apply to the State.”

This decision coincides with the recent Parker v. District of Columbia case, in which the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia struck down a decades-old handgun ban in Washington, D.C. on the ground that it violates the Second Amendment.

“The legal significance of the Second Amendment is finally being recognized by American courts,” Nappen continued, “and this New Jersey case is part of a growing trend in American jurisprudence.”
